So the plane we got from San Francisco left at midnight Sunday, and landed in Orlando at 9:30 EST Monday, with a layover in Atlanta. On the 4 hour flight from SF to Atl, Kirby's fever broke and he was a furnace. He couldn't breathe and he blacked out. It was pretty scary sitting next to someone who suddenly wasn't there any more. I called the attendants over, and they were extremely helpful. They got him cooled down, drinking water, and an breathing from an oxygen tank. They also called for a doctor on the plane, which I'd only ever heard in movies before, and two came to help. After everyone left the first time, it happened again, and he blacked out twice in a row. This time, they left the oxygen tank and one of the doctors traded seats so he coud sit nearby. He was taken off the plane before everone else, and they let me go with him, to carry his things. There were some paramedics to do a quick checkup, and since there seemed to be no further problems, they let us get on our next plane. We did get him plenty of food and drink.
When we landed, we waited what seemed to be nearly a half hour for our luggage, and then we all packed into a friend's truck and went to school. We ended up being only two hours late for class, but we were excused since it was for GDC. Still, dragging my luggage into class felt a little silly.
I hope my next flight isn't nearly as eventful.
